Ruth's Custom Mezuzot to
Adorn Hundreds of Homes

August 2009 - After winning a commission awarded by the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto, California, Ruth produced a custom design to complement the spirit and aesthetics of the organization and its brand-new, state-of-the-art facilities on the Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life. The new facilities "are infused with the colors of the seven plants of Israel: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and honey dates," and so she designed mezuzot in copper, brass and bronze with a deep red pomegranate on the front. She produced several large mezuzot to adorn door posts of the new center, as well as 160 smaller replicas to be presented to many of the center's generous supporters. Ruth was grateful to receive this commission and play even a small part in the celebration of this wonderful, new JCC.
